What does it cost to shift into a 3BHK in Bengaluru? Couple reveals ₹2.53 lakh bill
Moving into a new home usually starts with one simple question: how much is the rent? But once the actual shifting begins, there are several other bills to deal with. A couple in Bengaluru recently shared their own moving expenses online, showing how a house move can add up to a sizeable amount.The couple said they spent ₹2,53,500 while moving into a 3BHK apartment in South Bengaluru. Their spending covered the house deposit, brokerage, moving costs, rented appliances and Wi-Fi relocation. The amount did not include money spent on decorating the new home or other purchases.₹1.5 lakh paid as house depositAna Mishra shared the expense details in an Instagram video. She said she and her partner, Ishan, had recently moved into a 3BHK in South Bengaluru.Mishra was shifting from another home in Bengaluru, while Ishan was moving from Kolkata. According to her, the deposit for the new apartment was ₹1.5 lakh.The couple also used a broker during their house search. Mishra said the brokerage was equal to one month’s rent and came to ₹37,000.“You can definitely find a house without a broker and we did not want to do all the work by ourselves, so a broker really helped us, and brokerage cost us one month rent, which is 37,000,” Mishra said.Furniture move from Kolkata cost ₹60,000Transporting furniture from Kolkata to Bengaluru was another major expense for the couple.They sent several larger items to their new home, including a bed, shoe rack, dining table and king-size sofa. The packers and movers charged ₹60,000 for the shipment.“We shipped our bed, shoe rack, dining table, king-size sofa, and the whole thing cost us 60,000 rupees, which was totally worth it. All our stuff came properly, nothing broke, no scratches,” she said.Smaller costs also added upThe couple had a separate moving expense for Mishra’s belongings from her previous Bengaluru apartment. That cost ₹3,000.They also rented three household appliances for the new home: a washing machine, refrigerator and water purifier. The monthly rental for these came to ₹2,800.Moving their Wi-Fi connection to the new home cost another ₹700.Total expense crossed ₹2.5 lakhAfter adding the different costs involved in the move, the couple’s total came to ₹2,53,500.Mishra said the amount was only related to their moving process.
