The Mahashivratri celebrations at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore on February 15 will be livestreamed globally with sign language interpretation for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, according to a press release.The overnight event will begin at 6 pm and continue until 6 am on February 16. Organisers said the livestream will also be available in 23 Indian and international languages to enable wider participation.

Multilingual satellite broadcast

The programme will be streamed through live satellite feeds in English, 11 Indian languages — Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Assamese, Odia, Kannada, Bangla, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam — and 11 foreign languages including Nepali, Russian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Italian, Romanian, Arabic, Indonesian and Vietnamese.Further details about the livestream are available on the organisation’s website.

Dignitaries to attend

The chief guest for Isha Mahashivratri 2026 will be defence minister Rajnath Singh.Other attendees are expected to include Dr L Murugan, Union minister of state for information and broadcasting and parliamentary affairs; Devendra Fadnavis, chief minister of Maharashtra; and Suresh Gopi, Union minister of state for tourism and petroleum and natural gas, along with other public figures, spiritual leaders and artists.

Theme and cultural line-up

This year’s event is themed “Ganga” and will focus on the spiritual, cultural and ecological aspects associated with the river, as per the release. The programme will include guided meditations led by Sadhguru, as well as music and dance performances.Artists scheduled to perform include Aditya Gadhvi and Prashant Sonagra. Collaborations with Sounds of Isha are set to feature Swaroop Khan, Blaaze, Harish Sagane and Dhol Tasha, along with Swagat Rathod, Prithvi Gandharv, Aishwarya Nigam and Deepali Sahay.Organisers said that, for the first time, Sadhguru will perform the Yogeshwara Linga Maha Abhishekam as part of the event. Registration for the offering was made available free of cost.According to the organisers, the Mahashivratri event draws online participation from viewers in over 170 countries each year.
