The movie was screened across 2,673 shows. It registered an overall occupancy of 76.9% on its opening day.The film’s India gross collection stood at Rs 17.20 crore. It also registered Rs 7 crore in overseas gross collections. This took the worldwide gross collection of ‘Irumudi’ to Rs 24.20 crore after its first day.
Telugu version dominates Day 1 collections
The Telugu version accounted for almost the entire India net collection. It earned Rs 14.78 crore from 2,591 shows. The version registered an overall occupancy of 79%.The Tamil version recorded a much smaller contribution. It collected Rs 2 lakhs from 82 shows. Its overall occupancy stood at 11% on Day 1.The Telugu shows saw their strongest turnout during the night. The occupancy reached 88.08% during those shows. Evening shows registered 78.69%. Afternoon occupancy stood at 73.62%, while morning shows recorded 66.69%.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contribute Rs 15 crore
The Andhra Pradesh and Telangana markets were the biggest contributors to the film’s opening-day gross. Together, the two states generated Rs 15 crore.Karnataka followed with Rs 1.50 crore. Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 34 lakhs. The movie earned Rs 1 lakh from Kerala and Rs 35 lakhs from the rest of India.These figures took the total India gross collection to Rs 17.20 crore.
