Rajpal Yadav served jail sentence in 2018
According to the reports, the actor had spent three months in jail in the same case earlier. Reportedly, he took a loan from Murali Projects Pvt Ltd for his directorial debut, ‘Ata Pata Laapata’ in 2010. The movie was released in 2012 but failed at the box office. Due to the same, he failed to repay the amount. After multiple cheque bounces and legal proceedings, a court convicted Rajpal Yadav and sentenced him to prison. He appealed for bail in the case, but he served three months in jail before release.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rajpal talked about his time in Jail. He said, “After three months, when I was leaving from there, the jail superintendent and the staff gave me two certificates instead of one. He said, ‘This place is very historic, and in my whole life I have not seen someone like you. We got inspired by you.'”During the interaction, the actor also revealed that he conducted workshops for his fellow inmates. He sought permission from the authorities and gathered all the prisoners on the second day of the workshop. He said that the prisoners, who didn’t even want to walk or do anything in their lives, were smiling and started acting.Meanwhile, the actor, currently lodged in jail in connection with a Rs 9-crore debt case, will continue to remain behind bars until at least Monday after the Delhi High Court deferred the hearing on his interim bail plea to a later date.
