Within just 24 hours, I was undergoing surgery for the plum-sized stage 4 tumors in my brain.” Her melanoma, first diagnosed in 2022, had spread to her lungs and brain by early 2025. Surgeons removed several tumors during the February 2025 operation, leaving others for radiation and immunotherapy.

Recent health status and PTSD struggle

By October 2025, Teddi Mellencamp Arenas reported “no detectable cancer” throughout her body, a milestone holding steady into 2026. On her Two T’s in a Pod podcast, Teddi Mellencamp Arenas shared, “I’ve been engaging in a lot of therapy, taking plenty of time to rest, and spending quality moments with my family. It’s been a journey to get myself back together because it seems I’m dealing with significant PTSD.” She continued, “The PTSD stems from everything that transpired. I wasn’t fully aware of it, but I’m starting to feel a bit better now. The heaviness is starting to lift.” Teddi Mellencamp Arenas added, “It’s all so surreal. Everything is as good as it can be.”On January 27, 2026, according to People magazine, Teddi Mellencamp Arenas reflected, “I believe that the medications and immunotherapy take a toll on my body, and I also think I haven’t fully processed everything that happened during my surgery.” She mentioned feeling “a lot of anxiety” mixed with “a lot of gratitude” approaching the anniversary.

Severe headaches prompted hospitalization on February 12, 2025, uncovering brain tumors likely growing for six months.
