At the pre-release event of ‘Love Insurance Kompany,’ actor and director RJ Balaji shared an interesting and emotional story about the love journey of Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara. The event was held ahead of the film’s release this Friday and was attended by the cast and crew. RJ Balaji said he had seen their relationship grow step by step right in front of him. According to him, the love story between the director and the actress developed slowly over time, and he was one of the first friends to hear about it from Vignesh Shivan himself.
RJ Balaji says he first found it hard to believe the love story of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan
While speaking at the event, RJ Balaji revealed that he initially found it hard to believe when Vignesh Shivan first told him about his feelings. “Vignesh came to me and said he was in love with Nayanthara. I told him, ‘Hey, stop joking and be serious,’” he said with a smile. Balaji added that Vignesh Shivan kept insisting that it was true. “He said, ‘No, I am serious. This is real.’ I honestly could not believe it at first,” he shared. The actor jokingly added that he even felt a little shocked at that moment. “I asked him again, ‘Are you sure Nayanthara really loves you?’ When he said yes, it felt like my heart was about to burst,” he said, making the audience laugh.
RJ Balaji confirms Vignesh Shivan-Nayanthara’s strong bond and lasting love
RJ Balaji then shared how he later confirmed the news himself. He said he directly asked Nayanthara about the relationship. “I went to Nayanthara and asked her, ‘Do you really love Vignesh?’ She smiled and said yes,” he recalled. According to him, the love he saw between them that day still remains the same even today. “The way they loved each other then is exactly how they still love each other now, with the same warmth and affection,” he said. He also added that many people in the industry admire Vignesh Shivan, including composer Anirudh Ravichander and actor Pradeep Ranganathan.
Long friendship connects Vignesh Shivan, Nayanthara, and RJ Balaji
RJ Balaji also spoke about his long friendship with the couple. Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara first grew close during the filming of ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan,’ in which Nayanthara starred opposite Vijay Sethupathi. RJ Balaji was also part of the film. Their friendship later continued in other projects as well. Nayanthara also played the lead role in RJ Balaji’s directorial film ‘Mookuthi Amman.’ Through the years, they have been good friends who have assisted each other in times of need.
