Rhea Chakraborty is gearing up for her return to screens with filmmaker Hansal Mehta’s upcoming series titled ‘Family Business’. The actor’s comeback arrives years after a terbulent period marked by legal battles and intense public scrutiny following the death of her actor boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput in June 2020. Rhea Chakraborty on plans to quit actingLooking back on the emotional toll of the events that followed Rajput’s demise, Rhea said that said stepping back from acting was deeply painful after spending around a decade trying to get a foothold. In a chat with Hindustan Times, she admitted that letting go of her dreams to become and actress, took several sessions of therapy. She added, “I had to stop thinking about it because I couldn’t have it; I didn’t get acting opportunities.“Rhea Chakraborty on returning to actingWhile admitting that she initially turned down several projects and distanced herself from acting for several years, She credited Hansal Mehta for paving the way for her comeback. She said, “Hansal sir and the writer asked me what was stopping me. I told them I had left acting and they said that’s all the more reason I should do it because it does not matter whether I do well or not.” Looking back at her decision to take up the part, she said, “Now I’m glad I said yes. Giving her girl group their due credit, she added, “Had it not been for my friends and family, I don’t think I would have come out of it the way I did.”Reflecting on the intense media scrutiy, public backlash and the quiet support from her friends and family, she said, “I saw the worst side of humans but on the other side I also experienced the most beautiful side of humanity.”
