Pakistani terrorist killed in joint Army–J&K police operation in Uri sector

NEW DELHI: A Pakistani terrorist was killed in a joint operation carried out by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Buchhar area of the Uri sector, officials told news agency ANI on Sunday.According to the Army, the operation was launched during the intervening night of March 14–15 following specific intelligence inputs from J&K Police about a possible infiltration attempt in the region.“Based on a specific intelligence input provided by J&K Police regarding an infiltration attempt, a joint operation was launched on intervening night of 14–15 Mar 26 in general area of Buchhar, Uri sector,” the Army said in a statement.

Troops deployed in the area noticed suspicious movement in a thicket and repositioned their ambush to intercept the suspect.
