Iran said more than 30 civilians have been killed in recent US strikes on southern Iran, as US President Donald Trump warned that Washington would target Iranian power plants and bridges next week unless Tehran returns to the negotiating table.Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said on X that the strikes had killed over 30 civilians, expressing condolences to the victims’ families and pledging government support. The Iranian army separately said seven soldiers were killed and several others wounded in a US strike early Wednesday on a ground force garrison in Bampur County, in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan. The army said 13 missiles hit the military centre’s barracks, guesthouse and guard posts.US President Donald Trump warned that the United States would strike bridges and power plants in Iran “next week” unless Tehran returns to the negotiating table.“We’re going to hit them very hard tomorrow night. We’re going to hit them very hard the night after, and then next week it gets really bad for them, because next week comes the power plants. Next week comes the bridges. We’re going to knock out all their power plants. We’re going to knock out all their bridges unless they get to the table and negotiate,” Trump told Fox News in an interview Tuesday. The warning came as the US military carried out another round of strikes against Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz and coastal areas, with Washington saying the operations were aimed at “degrading Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping.”Iranian forces have responded by targeting US bases and facilities in regional countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, with missiles and drones. The US Central Command said Wednesday that its forces had conducted another round of strikes, hitting dozens of military targets near the Strait of Hormuz and Iranian coastal areas.
