'CM Revanth Reddy denied permission for US visit by Centre': Telangana CMO

NEW DELHI: Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy has been forced to cancel his planned visit to the United States after the Centre denied permission, the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said on Friday.In a statement, the CMO alleged that the ministry of external affairs’ (MEA) decision was driven by a “political angle”.“The official Telangana Rising delegation led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has been forced to cancel their visit to the United States of America (USA) after the Ministry of External Affairs denied permission, saying that ‘clearance from political angle is denied’,” the CMO said in a release, according to PTI.

The chief minister is currently in London, having left for a 10-day tour of the UK and the US. He will now return to Hyderabad from London on August 23 instead of travelling to Boston, according to the CMO.Reddy had on Thursday skipped the 31st Zonal Council meeting chaired by Union home minister Amit Shah, which was attended by chief ministers and representatives of southern states and Union territories, in Tamil Nadu’s Mamallapuram.
